This Privacy Policy describes how BrewLog ("we", "us", or "our"), developed by Penguin, collects, uses, and protects information when you use the BrewLog iOS application (the "App").

BrewLog helps you track caffeine intake, explore coffee types and brewing methods, use a brew timer, set goals, view summaries, and optionally sync caffeine data with Apple Health.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

• Caffeine logs (coffee type, quantity, caffeine amount, and time of consumption)
• Brewing preferences, brew timer usage, and custom entries
• Caffeine goals, limits, and summaries
• Support communications you send to us (such as emails)
• Subscription status (managed by Apple; payment details are not shared with us)

1.2 Apple Health Data

With your explicit permission, BrewLog can write caffeine intake data to the Apple Health app.

• We only access Health data that you explicitly authorize
• Health data is used solely to provide BrewLog features and insights
• We do not read, sell, store, or share your Apple Health data outside your device and iCloud

Access to Health data is governed by Apple’s HealthKit policies.

1.3 Data Stored on Device and iCloud

Your BrewLog data is stored locally on your device. And your logs, preferences, goals, and summaries are stored in your private iCloud account and synced across devices signed in with the same Apple ID automatically.

• We do not have access to your iCloud account or password
• iCloud data handling is subject to Apple’s privacy policies and terms

1.4 Automatically Collected Information

BrewLog may collect limited diagnostic information such as crash reports and basic usage analytics. This data is anonymized and used only to improve app stability and performance.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Provide core features like caffeine tracking, brew timers, coffee guides, goals, and summaries
• Sync your data securely using iCloud
• Write caffeine data to Apple Health (with your permission)
• Improve performance, design, and user experience
• Respond to support requests and important updates

3. Subscriptions & Payments

BrewLog may offer optional premium subscriptions. All subscriptions and in-app purchases are processed through the Apple App Store.

• We do not collect or store billing or payment card information
• Subscription management is handled via your Apple ID

4. Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data. Information may be disclosed only when required by law, to protect users and services, or as part of a business transfer such as a merger or acquisition.

5. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information. However, no method of storage or transmission is completely secure.

6. Data Retention

Your data is retained for as long as you use BrewLog. Deleting the App removes local data. iCloud and Apple Health data are managed according to your device settings and Apple’s policies.

7. Children’s Privacy

BrewLog is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.

8. Your Rights & Choices

• Enable or disable Apple Health access in iOS settings
• Enable or disable iCloud sync access in iOS settings
• Manage subscriptions through your Apple ID
• Delete the App to remove locally stored data

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of BrewLog indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
